Battle of Who Could Care Less?

Two teams expected to compete for wildcard berths this season find themselves at near desperation only 8 games into the season.

The Atlanta City Slickers, who finished 82-80 last season, and the New Orleans Breeze, who went 74-88, both find themselves sitting at 0-8 at this point of the season. Neither team is in panic mode yet, as it is an extremely long season, but evenso, both realize the importance of grabbing that first win.

"Absolutely, we have to win right now. We can't let this streak hit double digits. We all know we're not out of it yet. But we also know we can soon find ourselves in a hole that may be impossible to dig out of if we don't right this ship in the next game," Atlanta CF Jeff Brush said.

The mood in the New Orleans locker room is a little more unstable, as new pitcher Timothy Christiansen has already started pointing fingers. "I came over from Rochester to finish my career on this team, and help them finally make the playoffs. If I knew that half the team just wasn't going to perform, I'd have gladly gone somewhere else."

Obviously neither team is going to go 0-162. But will either be able to rebound from this set back? And what will they have first? Their first win, or their 10th loss?

Don't despair - I started 0-8 two years ago and came back to make the playoffs. It can be done. Sure sucks though!
